Wind Ensemble

E Period

Wind Ensemble is for 2nd and 3rd year wind and percussion players. Advanced instrument techniques and traditional band literature will be explored and performed. 

Requirements: Entrance contingent upon successful completion of an audition.  Students must make a yearlong commitment to the class.   This ensemble performs concerts outside of regular class time. 

Wind Ensemble performs at adjudicated festivals around the Southern California region in the springtime.

Woodwinds: flute, oboe, clarinet, bass clarinet, alto saxophone, tenor saxophone, baritone saxophone and bassoon

Brass: horn, trumpet, trombone, euphonium, and tuba

Percussion:  All battery percussion (snare drums, bass drums, tenor drums, and cymbals),  timpani and mallet instruments (marimba, xylophone, vibraphone, orchestra bell, and chimes)

Course offered to 7th and 8th grade students
