Wind Symphony

A Period 

Wind Symphony is a class is for 2nd and 3rd year music students or 6th graders with prior musical experience on their instrument.  Advanced instrument techniques and traditional band literature will be explored and performed.  

Requirements: Entrance contingent upon successful completion of PUMAS at MVMS or a similar music class at another school.  Students must make a yearlong commitment to the class.   This ensemble performs concerts outside of regular class time.

Woodwinds: flute, oboe, clarinet, bass clarinet, alto saxophone, tenor saxophone, baritone saxophone and bassoon

Brass: horn, trumpet, trombone, euphonium, and tuba

Percussion:  All battery percussion (snare drums, bass drums, tenor drums, and cymbals),  timpani and mallet instruments (marimba, xylophone, vibraphone, orchestra bell, and chimes)

Course offered to 7th and 8th grade students and 6th graders with prior musical expereince.
